We spent several weeks off and on at Lake Fairfax Campground in Reston Virginia.

The campground was a perfect location for us to hold up while Dad worked from the Reston Office. It's only 3 miles from the office and he was able to regularly take a Lyft to or from the park and work. Made for some strange conversations about why we were going to an RV park at 10PM at night with a button-up and dress shoes on. Overall couldn't have worked about better from a locality to work perspective. It was even close to a co-worker's home making free rides convenient on multiple occasions.

The RV portion of the park itself was okay. Most of the spots were not level, requiring leveling blocks. Which wouldn't be an issue except we're constantly on the move so made that less than desirable. Each site only has power, but onsite they have water and dump station. So we'd just fill up ever week or so with water and dump at the same time. Overall worked out good.

The park itself was super cool. Onsite they have a full on water park, picnic area, mountain biking trails, grass fields with soccer goals, skatepark and seemingly more.

The kid enjoyed the skate park as it was <100-yards from the RV park. So over the weeks he spent a fair bit of time riding around the skate park enjoying at the ramps, the pit and the rails...okay, maybe not the rails...but overall had a blast. He was able to watch the "older" skaters do their tricks and worked on his ollie.

The first week at the park he made some friends (Luke, Will, Mahala, and Dillan). They rode bikes all day one day and spent the next at the water park. He was super bummed when they had to leave and head back to San Antonio, Texas. They exchanged contact information and told him to stop by if we ended up in Texas.

Virginia was super hot and humid. It also rained nearly every day for the first two weeks. This meant Dad only snuck in one bike ride around the park. It was a fun ride, humid and hot, but still good. Mom was only able to run a little but not nearly as much as she'd have liked given the rain, heat and humidity. Some days were shorts, flip-flops and a jacket for doggie bathroom breaks.

All in all we were super happy with the way things worked out at the Lake Fairfax RV park. It made for a great launching point in visiting many old friends while being super close to work.
