We stopped and spent the day in Idaho Falls to watch the biggest fireworks show west of the Mississippi. Apparently bigger than San Francisco and Boston. I really enjoy fireworks so this sounded great. This meant that we needed to bypass Craters of the Moon NP, but that's okay.

We stopped early in the day to give ourselves a break from several hundred miles of driving the day before.

We got an unexpected surprise and there were a bunch of activities occurring down near the 70 acres of grass planted to support the 170K expected attendees. So we spent afternoon riding our bikes, reading our books, eating festival food (yummy ice cream) and walking the venue. Was neat waiting for the main event to start as the rest of the town shot off their personal fireworks. The entire town had mini fireworks show occurring all over. Was a lot different than a 4th of July in a water starved California town...

Was a fun evening in Idaho Falls. The next morning we got a bike lock at Idaho Mountain Trading. Unfortunately my bike rack is the "old style" and getting the lock for it is custom order, but they hooked me up with another good solution.
